8-Week Online Course
Energy Foundations for Embodiment
A guided eight-week journey back into the body you already live in. Six practices, three lineages, one return to presence.
Welcome
Six practices. One return to the body.
This course teaches six practices, Energy Foundations for Embodiment, drawn from three lineages and organized around the order in which they are most naturally learned: essence and core, grounding, the edge, me and not me, the energy centers, and asking for help.
The premise is simple. Most people, most of the time, are not living inside their bodies. Stress, pain, overwhelm, and trauma all teach the same lesson, that it is safer to think about the body than to inhabit it. This course teaches the way back.
Three Lineages
Judith Blackstone
Trauma and the Unbound Body. The foundational understanding that the body binds around what was too much, and unbinds through being inhabited rather than pushed. Fundamental consciousness, essence, and the felt boundary between self and other.
Lynda Caesara
Elements of Energetic Mastery. Practical energetic skill: how to ground and stay grounded, how to tell your own energy from someone else's, how to work with the edge as a felt reality, and how to move attention through the energy centers with precision.
Wilhelm Reich
Five character patterns, developed by Alexander Lowen and Steven Kessler. Background understanding of how people characteristically organize under stress, held in posture and fascia, which informs the pacing and tone of the instruction.
"When you have your attention where you want it, when you want it, how you want it, that is mastery."
Lynda Caesara
Why a Self Has to Come First
Capacity before contact.
This course does not go straight to the hard material. That is deliberate. Weeks 1 through 5 build the foundation of presence. Only then does the course turn to the deeper work. Sequence is not a formality here. It is the intervention.
There has to be someone home to do the healing.
Adversity produces disturbances in self-organization: difficulty regulating emotion, difficulty in relationships, an unstable sense of self. Something has to build the self first.
Deep processing without stabilization can make things worse.
Going to the hard material too early risks destabilization. A preparation phase establishes safety and regulation before any processing.
The self that gets built is built from the inside of the body.
Interoception, the sense of internal signals, constrains how much the sense of self is pushed around by outside influence. A person who cannot feel themselves from the inside will be defined from the outside.
A stronger self predicts better outcomes.
Self-concept and ego strength have direct positive effects on post-traumatic growth. The direction is consistent with the literature.
Self-reflection is itself a mechanism of change.
Self-referential processing enhances emotion regulation and enables an active stance toward your own experience rather than being swept away by it.
Who This Course Is For
Adults who want a more direct, felt relationship with their own body.
- ·Chronic stress, overwhelm, or burnout
- ·A history of trauma, including developmental or relational trauma
- ·Anxiety, rumination, or living in the head
- ·Chronic pain or persistent physical symptoms
- ·Disordered eating or a difficult relationship with the body
- ·Grief, life transition, or a period of not knowing who one is
- ·Work in caregiving, healthcare, or any role that involves absorbing other people's states
- ·Simple curiosity about what it means to be fully present
How This Course Works
Each week, the same rhythm.
- ·One teaching video (20 to 30 min) — concepts and context
- ·One guided practice video (15 to 25 min) — the practice itself, followed in real time
- ·A written lesson
- ·Daily home practice — 5 to 10 minutes
- ·Three journal prompts
Watch the teaching video, read the lesson, then do the guided practice. Repeat the guided practice through the week. The repetition is where the change happens, not the first time through.
Important
This course is education and practice, not therapy or medical treatment. It is not a substitute for care from a therapist, physician, dietitian, or psychiatrist, and it does not treat or cure any condition. It is not trauma processing. Every practice can be modified: eyes open, seated, shorter, stopped, skipped entirely. No is always a complete answer, and choosing it is part of the work rather than a failure of it.
The Eight Weeks
Capacity before contact, then the deeper map.
Week 1
Foundations and Safety
The body learned to leave, and that was intelligent. Attention is the intervention, not effort. Learn the window of tolerance, the three brains (belly, heart, mind), and the five character patterns under stress.
Teaching Why Coming Back Into the Body Matters
Practice Orienting and Arriving (12 min)
Home Two minutes daily: sit, feel the feet and the seat, ten breaths.
Week 2
Essence and Core
Contact the subtle, essential quality that pervades the whole body through the vertical core and bones. Identity is what you construct; essence is what remains when the construction relaxes. The self-building week.
Teaching What Was Never Damaged
Practice Finding the Core of the Body (20 min)
Home Five minutes daily, standing, outlining the body in sequence.
Week 3
Grounding
Once the body's structure is felt, it needs somewhere to rest its weight. Grounding as a maintained skill: established, checked, lost under stress, re-established on purpose. The right to take up space.
Teaching Weight, Ground, and the Right to Take Up Space
Practice Grounding Through the Lower Body (18 min)
Home Five minutes daily, plus three grounding checks at fixed moments.
Week 4
The Edge
Feel the boundary of your own space, an arm's length in every direction. Addressed directly and reinforced on purpose. Tying off the fibers. Armored versus porous, and how to hold the edge without being at war.
Teaching The Space That Belongs to You
Practice Building and Feeling Your Edge (18 min)
Home Rebuild the edge daily; check it after any significant interaction.
Week 5
Me / Not Me
Sort what is inside the edge. Feel the difference between what is you and what is another. Clear what was never yours, and call every part of yourself home. Attunement: real contact without losing yourself in it.
Teaching Whose Energy Is This?
Practice Clearing and Calling Yourself Home (18 min)
Home Full clearing sequence daily; ask, is this state mine?
Week 6
The Energy Centers
The body as a prism refracting essence into wavelengths. Move attention through nine centers in sequence, charging each with grounded earth energy. Open and close at will. This is where the self becomes detailed rather than general.
Teaching A Map of the Interior
Practice The Full Nine-Center Sequence (25 min)
Home Full nine-center sequence three times this week.
Week 7
Asking for Help
The sixth basic, made explicit. When a basic won't settle on its own, ask. Establish a working relationship with something larger than individual effort. What keeps the system from becoming one more thing to perform correctly.
Teaching The Sixth Basic
Practice The Full Sequence, With Help (22 min)
Home Run the full sequence; at the first point something doesn't land, ask for help before pushing through.
Week 8
Integration and Daily Life
Translate the six basics into ordinary life: eating, movement, work, relationships. Unbinding is ongoing, not something that finishes. Write a one-page personal practice plan to carry it forward.
Teaching Carrying It Forward
Practice The Full Sequence (25 min)
Home Write your personal practice plan.
The Six Basics
A quick reference you'll return to.
Essence and Core
Outline the actual structure of the body; find the vertical core; rest in what was never damaged.
Grounding
Fibers rooted into the earth, tied off, energy drawn back up through the body.
The Edge
An arm's length of protected space in every direction, addressed directly and reinforced on purpose.
Me / Not Me
Clear what isn't yours, call every part of yourself home.
Energy Centers
Nine centers, ground to crown and beyond, charged in sequence.
Asking for Help
When a basic won't hold on effort alone, ask directly, without apology.
Underneath all six: the body does not release when pushed. It releases when inhabited. And underneath that: there has to be someone home before anything can heal.
