About Michelle

Hi, I'm Michelle Kubasek, MS, RDN.

Embodiment Teacher and Registered Dietitian

I help people come back into their bodies after years of living outside them. My work is about restoring the capacity to feel, trust, and inhabit yourself again through The Basics of Energy Mastery, somatic work, and deep inner healing.

My Story

How I got here

I help people reconnect with their bodies. I help them break free from restrictive food rules and transform their mindset for lasting well being.

I grew up chasing achievement. Straight A's, a top high school, Cornell, NYU, competitive running records, State Championships, and then the corporate ladder. Success became my armor. It was the only way I knew to be seen without being truly known.

Running was not freedom for me. It was punishment dressed up as discipline. I was fueled by self rejection and the need to prove I was enough, so I chased thinness and control. The female athlete triad, stress fractures, an eating disorder. My body kept breaking, but I kept going. Then came weightlifting. I gained muscle, and I looked healthy on the outside, but I was still driven by fear, comparison, and the belief that rest was weakness. Antidepressants dulled the edges, but they never touched the emptiness. My nervous system stayed in overdrive. Go go go. No rest, no safety.

Then my body refused to keep going. I was bedridden, with the worst fatigue of my life. I was unable to lift five pounds or walk without gasping for air. For the first time in my life, I had no choice but to stop, and I finally listened.

My whole journey had been about chasing worth through control, extreme exercise, and restriction. It led me to injury, the female athlete triad, and an eating disorder. Weightlifting felt like the solution, but fear was still driving me, and my identity was tied to performance, not to self love.

I had used control and extreme discipline as a way to feel worthy for as long as I could remember. That path led me to injury, depletion, and a complete physical collapse that forced me to stop. Bedridden and stripped of the identity I had built around performance, I had to rebuild my life from the ground up.

That collapse cracked everything open for me. Intuition became louder than fear. Within a month, I quit my job, ended a relationship, distanced myself from family and the religion that had once been my anchor, packed a small bag, and bought a one way ticket to Bali, because my soul was calling me there. Signs followed me the whole way, undeniable, everywhere. I learned to trust myself more. I learned from mentors and holistic medicines along the way. I volunteered at a children's orphanage, pouring love and authenticity into those little hearts in ways I had never allowed myself to receive.

I kept traveling the world, learning more and more about myself and about how much connection with others matters. My body changed. I learned the importance of authenticity and connection across people and cultures. I learned to trust my intuition, and to trust where and what my body is calling me to. But none of this would have happened if I had never taken the first step of letting go of what I held so tightly: the eating disorder, the excessive working out, the job, the people, and everything else.

What I discovered was that lasting change did not come from more rules or better willpower. It came from learning how to live inside my body again. Through deep embodiment practices, nervous system regulation, and a shift in how I related to myself, I recovered a sense of safety, presence, and self trust that had been missing for years.

Through intuitive eating and shifting my subconscious patterns, I learned to trust my body, listen to its cues, and heal fully. Now I guide clients navigating eating disorders, performance nutrition, digestive issues, and general wellness. I address root causes, not just symptoms, and I help people return to wholeness. Mind, body, and soul.

Today I teach people how to live in their Basics: grounding, clarifying what is theirs and what is not, sensing and holding their edge, contacting the unbroken core of who they are, and bringing awareness into the body's energy centers. These are practical, learnable skills that restore the ability to be present, regulated, and at home in yourself.

When you know how to stay in your own system, you stop unconsciously dumping stress, emotion, or unfinished charge onto the people around you. You become clearer, more steady, and more effective in relationships, leadership, and high pressure environments.

Outside the Practice

Life as an ever-unfolding adventure

Outside of my work, I am a world traveler, facing my fears with courage and embracing life as an ever-unfolding adventure. You'll find me hiking new trails, engaging with the flows of nature, singing and speaking from my heart, learning new skills, cooking, reading, and immersing myself in new cultures and communities. I believe in living fully, creating freely, and letting the world be my teacher. That spirit of curiosity and openness is something I bring into every session.
